Flashback Friday: An Assortment

I've been reading about babies rolling over for the first time and it reminded me of what a great time that was for me. Playette first rolled over at about 4 weeks and as a new mom I didn't know that was early at first. I remember checking online and reading books that didn't support that feat at all. I was so confused and thought I must have been losing it. I could tell people thought I was exaggerating. BD finally saw it too and then we caught it on video. It was her first real milestone-y type thing and we were so proud.

So, here she is. August 1, 2007.

Experiencing technical difficulties (of course we are - this is me, after all). Please check back later for the video.

Update: Trust me, it's cute. And there's rolling. The video and I? So not on speaking terms anymore. Come over my house and I'll show you the video. That's the best I can do.

And I just couldn't resist adding in a "Before & After" segment.

Before: "Look What We Did"

After: "Look What We Really Did!"

Chrystal, Finn rolled over at 3 weeks old - wayyyyyyy earlier than any of my "average" kids. And he's been doing it ever since. It's bizarre. And like you, I feel like people must think I'm out of my mind to make this claim, but I too have it on video. I don't know what it means.

You know, Ruby rolled over on her one month birthday. It was wild! I always attributed it to her super flexibility and the fact that she never.stopped.moving!

SUPER CUTE PICS!

That is such a creative picture... and Malea is beautiful as always!

To answer your question about signing and teaching colors... Well, first I will just say that A'Reian is not in DDI (early childhood intervention) I know they call it something different everywhere you go.. but we had MAJOR problems with those people!! This lady would come to my house and say, "Oh I have been dying to see this Oprah ALL WEEK... can you turn it up!" Or, "I don't think she is going to cooperate today so I will just go" (then mark on the paper that she stayed the whole hour)... Yeah, great people!! Needless to say- I called and complained and now I just teach her myself! Anyway, back to the answer.. I started signing with her at about 4 or 5 months old. The colors I just taught when she was 2 1/2 and she picked them up in NO TIME.. literally, like 2 hours.

I totally believe you! Kayla rolled over from her tummy to her back around 1.5 wks old. I didn't believe my mom when she told me (I was in another room at the time) I kept saying, babies can't roll over that early! That just can't happen! LOL Sure enough, she placed her on the tummy again, Kayla got pissed off, pushed with her little legs and rolled herself over. She did it at her 2 wk well-baby check up and her provider was also shocked. So I believe you! :)

Love the "before" picture! What a beautiful pose!
