just read your old post. Being black and disabled is hard but if Malea could not handle it god would not have given her ds. She will be strong with the right teaching like my mom (who is black) tought me. With help from u and your hubs she will overcome whatever changles she will face.

Thanks for your comment about "she's not going to stop learning" - I have my hubby to thank for that one. The school psychologist called me the night before to go over the results of the testing so I would know what she was going to say in the IEP meeting. I was grateful for that, because ugh, I ended up in tears after hanging up w/her. Thankfully Joe was able to call me so I could talk it through with him. He's always been the voice of reason and I'm the emotional one!
