Disability really *is* natural.

They say that disability is present in 20% of the population.

So 1 out of 5.

It was true here, too.


That guy right there? He soared with the rest of them.

Cool post, Chrystal. 20 percent doesn't seem that high until you put it in "1 out of 5" terms. Then you realize that somehow I spent most of your life ignoring or not noticing that 20%, but now that we're in it, we realize it really is natural.

Wow. This really moves me.

You know, I read something recently, some article and in it a person with some disability (I think autism) said, "To me, 'normal' is anything that happens in nature." So true.

So true! I have no doubt that the more they unravel the genetic code, the more they will realize that we all *have* something. Grouchiness, sloppiness, dinginess (guilty, guilty, guilty...)---I think they're probably all genetic "things" in and of themselves.
